PURPOSE:To decrease malfunctions due to noises in a signal processing device and drive a large number of semiconductor integrated circuits, by converting the output of the above circuits into light signals, thereby receiving the signals by using a Josephson element after transmitting them through an optical cable. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor laser 5 is driven by the output of a semiconductor digital integrated circuit 3 which is placed on a substrate 1. Light signals are led by an optical cable to junction parts of a Josephson element 7 of a monolithic semiconductor integrated circuit 4 which is placed on the substrate 2. A constant current always flows in the Josephson element 7 by a constant- current circuit 8. When the semiconductor laser 5 emits light, superconducting electron pairs are destroyed by application of a laser beam to the junction parts and then, voltage is generated at both ends. Thus, a signal processing circuit 9 results in a state of ON. |
