PURPOSE:To smoothly switch a DC motor drive and a stepping motor drive by switching an output signal for driving the DC motor and an output signal for driving the stepping motor. CONSTITUTION:A signal switching unit 850 switches signals 812-815 from a clock generator 805 and signals 824-827 from an external controller 112 by a switching signal 828 from the external controller thereby to switch a DC motor drive and a stepping motor drive. A rotor position is monitored on the basis of the combination of an encoder, an MR element, and DC motor characteristics are realized by switching an exciting pattern when a stator pole coincides with a rotor pole. The stepping motor drive is controlled by the signals 824-827. |
