<p>PURPOSE: To remove a read error caused by a print defect of a bar code by arranging a projection type rod member formed of a translucent material on a linear image sensor. CONSTITUTION: The rod member 70 which has a flat glossy surface opposite the linear image sensor and also has a convex glossy reflecting opposite surface and is formed of the translucent material is arranged on the linear image sensor 10. Therefore, the visual width of a photosensitive element increases and the band readout width becomes wide, so that a read signal which is adequately processed is generated even with a defective print bar code. Consequently, the print-defective bar code can be read by the simple device without any error, so office work cost can greatly be reduced.</p> |
