PURPOSE:To automatically set appropriate exposing amounts in copying, and plate making by obtaining density data for determining said amounts with signals from an image sensor and varying tables for setting exposing amounts for copying and making a plate. CONSTITUTION:A copying/printing device is provided with an optical system 3, a copying part 4, a plate making part 5 and a printing part 6. The density data for determining appropriate exposing amounts in copying and plate making is obtained from signals from the image sensor 551. Therefore, detailed data on densities of various parts of an original such as the density level of the darkest part, that of the lightest part and their difference can be obtained. In addition, tables for setting appropriate exposing amounts by referring to said data vary with copying and plate making, and they are adjusted to match to their sensitivities. Thus, appropriate exposing amounts can be set automatically in copying and plate making. |
