摘要 PURPOSE:To eliminate temporary excessive advance and delay in ignition timing and prevent nocking in transition by correcting temporarily the ignition timing by spark-delay and spark-advance controls so as to cope with the delay in reply of a compression ratio variable mechanism at the time of acceleration and deceleration of an internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:The presence of engine nocking is detected by a nocking detecting means 1, and when no nocking is present, the ignition timing is adjusted to the MBT point by a MBT control means 2. When the nocking is present, the ignition timing is adjusted to the nocking generation limit by a nocking control means 3. On the other hand, each actual compression ratio under high load and low load conditions is estimated from the ignition timing in stationary time of the engine by a compression ratio detecting means 4, and also the initial correction amount in the transition is set based on the difference of the both compression ratios by a correction amount setting means 5. The engine transition state is detected by a transition detecting means 6, and the ignition timing is corrected based on the initial correction amount by a correction means 7 at the time of detecting the transition.
