<p>This invention provides 1,4-dihydropyridine derivatives based on the general formula <CHEM> such as dimethyl 1,4-dihydro-4-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-2,6-dimethyl-1-(3-phenylpropyl)-3, 5-pyridine dicarboxylate. These derivatives are active against drug-resistant tumour cells by acting to inhibit the excretion of chemotherapeutic agents from the tumour cells.</p> |
