PURPOSE: To automatically determine the evaporation rate in a vessel by passing an electric current to a heating means to heat the bottom wall of the vessel, measuring the temp. of the heating means and disposing a feedback means for controlling the current passing the heating means in such a manner that the measured temp. maintains a specified level. CONSTITUTION: The electric current is passed to the electrical heating means 30 installed on the outside surface of the vessel 27 to heat the bottom wall of the vessel 27. The temp. of the electrical heating means 30 is sensed by a temp. sensor means 31 and a measured temp. signal is outputted. The current passing the electrical heating means 30 is controlled by the feedback means in such a manner that the sensed temp. maintains approximately the specified relation with the desired temp. in response to the measured temp. signal and the signal indicated by the desired temp., by which the evaporation rate of the liquid in the vessel 27 is determined.
