PURPOSE:To prevent increase of plate thickness and strength deterioration of a joined part by welding Al alloy plates in the specific range of plate thickness at the prescribed speed by using a CO2 laser beam or a YAG laser beam and mixed gas of nitrogen with oxygen. CONSTITUTION:At the time of performing butt welding on the Al alloy plates in a working line by the CO2 laser beam or the YAG laser beam, the plate thickness of the preceding plate 1 and the succeeding plate 2 made of an Al alloy is made in the range of 0.1-0.4mm and the mixed gas of the nitrogen with oxygen is used and the welded speed is regulated to 2-7m/min. Since the mixed gas of the nitrogen with oxygen is used as assisting gas, Al2O3 is generated on a laser beam irradiation part to improve absorptivity of the laser beam. By this method, since laser beam welding of the Al members is performed efficiently, the increase of the plate thickness and the deterioration of joining strength of the joint 3 are prevented. |
