FLUORINE-CONTAINING ELASTOMER AND ITS MOLDINGS.

A new fluorine-contg. elastomer contains vinylidene fluoride (VF) units and hexafluoropropylene (HFP) units, and may also contain tetrafluoroethylene (TFE) units. The fluorine content is 63.7 -71% (wt.); the intrinsic viscosity is 100 - 250 ml/g; the fraction of mol.wt. below 50,000 is no more than 5%; the fraction of mol.wt.. above 1,000,000 is 10-35%. The VF:HFP ratio is 80:20 to 40:60; the (VF+HFP) content is 65-100% and the TFE content is 0-35%.
