PURPOSE:To prevent the internal contamination of a machine, by forming the blank corresponding to the leading end of the second image carrier so as to make the same smaller than that corresponding to the rear end thereof with due regard to the relative positional shift of the images on the first and second image carriers. CONSTITUTION:The paper in a set 20 is sent between a photosensitive drum 4, to which a toner image is formed by an optical system consisting of a laser beam emitter 2, a polygon mirror 3 or the like, and a developing device 6 one at a time through a paper feed roller 21, a feed roller 13 and a resist roller 14 to receive the image. In this case, when an image is formed on the photosensitive drum (first image carrier) 4, a controller 30 performs control so that the blank corresponding to the leading end of paper (second image carrier) among the blanks formed by a blank forming means is formed so as to become smaller than the blank corresponding to the rear end thereof and the remaining of the non-transfer toner image on the photosensitive drum 4 due to positional shift is prevented. By this method, an effective image region can be made large while the internal contamination of the machine is prevented. |
