PURPOSE:To produce a resin having flexibility, retention of shape, release properties and easiness of molding and suitable for gaskets without the need of blending a plasticizer, by graft-polymerizing a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate with vinyl chloride. CONSTITUTION:40-70pts.wt. copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate which contains 10-30wt.% vinyl acetate is graft-copolymerized with 60-30pts.wt. vinyl chloride, thereby producing a resin for gaskets used for casting molds. The above graft copolymer has flexibility, retention of shape and release properties, and is itself suitable for gaskets without being mixed with a plasticizer, nearly stable to heat and easy to mold. |
