PURPOSE:To perform the file processing with a program common to respective files by providing a table where correspondence among respective files, data item names, and data positions is defined for plural applied files. CONSTITUTION:When the program is started, a file definition table TFL is loaded and a logical file name is taken out to perform the file processing. A file control part CONT is loaded to a storage device MEM from a corresponding physical file based on the table TFL. When a processing condition designates retrieval of a data item name, the number of the data item name in the file control part CONT is successively updated to check the pertinent item name. Then, retrieval data corresponding to the pertinent item name is taken out. The record of a data part DATA in the record address of an index part INDEX is loaded. |
