PURPOSE:To reduce the adhesion of a magnetic head by mixing transition metallic carbide to ceramics, forming a magnetic head slider, obtaining oxide with heating the carbide and protruding the oxide on an air bearing surface. CONSTITUTION:A thin film magnetic head slider 1 has an air bearing surface to be floated on the magnetic disk and to support this magnetic head slider. A fine grain 3 of carbide titanium is mixed to the ceramics and a head slider 1 is formed. Then, this head slider is heated in air and oxidized. Thus, the carbide titanium 3 is decomposed to titanium oxide 4 and by volume expansion to accompany the decomposition, the titanium oxide 4 is protruded from the surface 2. Thus, for the magnetic head to use the head slider 1 which forms the projection of the oxide, the adhesion is reduced. Then, since one part of the projection 4 is embedded, the head slider is strong. Thus, the adhesion of the magnetic head can be reduced at a low cost. |
