<p>PURPOSE: To miniaturize a copying machine by providing a feed means whose speed is variable and making the size of a bending part almost constant while the remaining part of a sheet is fed. CONSTITUTION: When the front edge of a copy sheet enters a nip of a feed roller 30, the feed roller 30 is driven at the speed which is substantially equal to the speed of a photoreceptor. The copy sheet is fed at this same speed and is guided to an inlet of a transfer station 5 by a guide member 16. When the front edge of the sheet enters the transfer station 5 and is mounted on a photoreceptor belt 1, the speed of the feed roller 30 is increased for a short time and slight excess part of paper is generated between the feed roller 30 and the station 5. This excess part generates a small bending part B near a paper guide 17 just before the excess part enters the transfer station 5. As the bending part B becomes larger, the bending part B closely comes into contact with a recessed surface of the guide member 17. After a short time when the feed roller 30 becomes high speed, the feed roller 30 is returned to its initial speed and feeds the last part of the copy sheet.</p> |
