摘要 PURPOSE:To largely reduce a constitution and a manufacturing period of a superconducting energy storage device, and a manufacturing cost by employing the sidewall of a coil container of the device as a supporting wall for supporting a superconducting coil thereby to form the sidewall of the container of an underground continuous wall, and producing a magnetic field in an environment by a current flowing to the superconducting coil. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid type coil 3 formed of a coil winding made of a superconducting material is contained in a refrigerant vessel 1. The vessel 1 is disposed by a coil supporting material 4 in a coil container 21 having an outer wall 8' made of an inner wall 8 made of a smaller-diameter underground continuous wall 8a than the diameter Dc of the coil 3 and a larger-diameter continuous wall 8'a than the inner diameter Dc in a ground substrate 12. The walls 8a, 8'a are made of normal reinforcedconcrete wall, and an electromagnetic force which is generated in the coil 3 to tend to expand when a current flows to the coil winding is supported mainly through the material 4. Thus, the constitution, the manufacturing period and cost of a superconducting energy storage device can be reduced.
