A tractor-mounted pruner, esp. for grape vines supported by horizontal steel wires, comprises a vertical rotary shaft (1) with a circular saw (2) on its lower end to cut through the vines, and cutters (3) at different heights to remove the cut vines from the trellis wires, turning between two arches (5) which act as retaining elements for the wires. The shaft, saw, cutters and arches are mounted on a vertically-hinged frame (7) which operates in the same way as a moving door when turned by a hydraulic power cylinder (9) to avoid the trellis posts. ADVANTAGE - Less damage to cutters, posts and wires.
