PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of measurement by placing two ferromagnetic materials so as to face each other through one gap, and forming the section of the magnet and the 3rd ferromagnetic material provided on the 2nd ferromagnetic material side of a relatively small width and a large length in the direction at a right angle thereto. CONSTITUTION:The 1st ferromagnetic material 12 and the 2nd ferromagnetic material 13 are placed so as to face each other through a gap 14 with a magnet 11. The 3rd ferromagnetic material 19 is disposed so as to face the magnet 11 between a magnetosensitive element 16 which outputs the signal corresponding to the quantity of the magnetic flux passing through the material 13 and the gap 14. The sections of the magnet 11 and the material 19 have a relatively narrow width along the passage direction of a moving member and a relatively long length in the direction roughly at a right angle thereof. The accuracy in position detection is thus improved. |
