PURPOSE:To prevent generation of galvanic corrosion in the piping of an apparatus using sea water and a piping device connected thereto by providing a current meter for the sea water, an external power supply electrode and a reference electrode to the inside of the piping as a galvanic protection device of said apparatus and piping device and supplying the potential and current corresponding to the flow velocity of the sea water from a power supply device. CONSTITUTION:The current meter 3 for the sea water, the external power supply electrode 4 and the reference electrode 5 are provided in the piping device 2 of a power generation plant, etc., which is connected with the electric apparatus 1 made of a nonferrous metal or alloy steel and the carbon steel piping system 2 having a coating 8 on the inside surface. The potential and current value corresponding to the flow velocity of the sea water are determined by an arithmetic unit 7 in accordance respectively with the present target potential and current value outputted form the external power supply electrode 4, the actual potential fed back from the reference electrode 5 and the flow velocity of the sea water detected by the current meter for the sea water and are outputted from the power supply device 6 via the external power supply electrode 4, by which the galvanic corrosion generated from a difference in the natural potential by the materials of the apparatus 1 and the piping material 2 is prevented. |
