PURPOSE:To reduce losses in pressure, noise, and vibration caused by eddies by providing an arc-shaped guide plate at the bottom of a duct and a square tapering hopper-shaped outlet for the fan so as to guide a current of air to change its direction smoothly and spread the air discharged from the fan. CONSTITUTION:A guide plate 8 in the shape of an arc is attached to the bottom of a duct 2. A square tapering outlet 7 in the shape of a hopper connects the discharge opening of a fan 3 with the underside of a filter 5. The air circulated from rooms is orientated toward the fan 3 by the guide plate 8 provided in the duct 2 and led through an opening 4 to the fan 3. The current discharged from the fan 3 is decelerated smoothly with eddies reduced as it passes through the hopper-shaped outlet 7 to the filter 5. As a result, the losses in pressure, noise, and vibration, all caused by eddies, are reduced and the motive power required to drive the fan is also reduced. The hopper-shaped outlet 7 and the casing 1 jointly serve to shut off the noise from the fan 3, so that the noise coming out of the casing 1 is reduced. |
