摘要 PURPOSE:To prolong the life of an electric contact by installing an excitation coil for applying a magnetic field to the first switch consisting of a superconductor and a permanent magnet for applying a magnetic field to the second switch consisting of a superconductor together with a coil for cancelling the magnetic field produced by the permanent magnet, and by connecting the excitation coil in series or parallel to the cancelling coil. CONSTITUTION:When an excitation coil 3a and a cancelling 3b are not excited, a superconductor contact 1a is in a normal conductive state with a high resistance under a critical magnetic field i.e., open because of the magnetic field of a permanent magnet being applied while a superconductor contact 1b is in a superconductive state, i.e., closed with zero resistance because of the magnetic field being not applied. When the excitation coil 3a and the cancelling coil 3b are excited, the superconductor contact 1a turns in a superconductive state because of the magnetic field due to a permanent magnet 4 being cancelled by the cancelling coil 3b, while the contact 1b converts in a normal conductive state because the excitation coil 3a being activated to produce a magnetic field, and thus reversal of function takes place at both switches. Since the excitation coil 3a and the cancelling coil 3b are connected in series to each other, the reversal action occurs simultaneously at both contacts 1a and 1b, thus making it possible to utilize them as the contacts a and b of a relay.
