PURPOSE:To obtain the title high-density bulky material with good productivity without heating mixed powder to high temp. by allowing a high kinetic energy- imparted mass body to collide with the mixed powder of plural kinds of raw oxides, and exerting compressive force on the powder. CONSTITUTION:Plural kinds of raw oxides (e.g., Y2O3, BaCO3, and CuO) are mixed in a specified ratio, and the mixed powder 1 is packed in a cylindrical vessel 2 made of copper and hermetically sealed. Meanwhile, a powder compression-molding device 3 consisting of a thick-walled cylindrical main shell 4 made of steel (e.g., having about 4m entire length and about 2m outer diameter) and thick end wall bodies 6 and 7 is prepared. The vessel 2 packed with the powder 1 is inserted into one end of an explosion chamber 5 formed at the center of the shell 4 and having an inner diameter almost equal to the outer diameter of the vessel 2. The mass body 9 made of steel and the explosive 8 are charged into the other end of the explosion chamber 5, the explosive 8 is ignited to cause explosion, and the mass body 9 is allowed to collide with the vessel 2 at high speed. The vessel 2 is then taken out and chemically dissolved and removed, and the bulky material is obtained. |
