PURPOSE:To secure the sealing performance of a wet seal section in response to the height of electrodes by arranging masks and support materials on a gas passage hole section at the periphery of a separator formed with irregularities to peripheries of both the front and back faces. CONSTITUTION:Corrugated plates 12 and 13, for example, are formed on both faces of the center plate 11 of a separator 10, irregular sections reach the peripheries. Gas inflow holes 5 and 7 and discharge holes 6 and 8 are provided on one peripheral section and the opposite side of the separator 10 respectively to form a wet seal section. Thin plate-shaped masks 16 and 17 are provided on the anode side and cathode side of the wet seal section respectively so that oxidation gas and fuel gas flow without being mixed. Support materials 18 and 19 are inserted between the masks 16 and 17 and between the corrugated plates 12 and 13 respectively, their thicknesses are set to required ones, thereby the height of electrodes and the height of the wet seal section can be matched simply and precisely. |
