To the opposite-hand thread system of diamond elevation (7, 8) are added two geared connections between legend pairs on platform (3) and base (2). At each pair of the shafts, e.g. (17) fixed non-rotatably to leg-end (10B), pivot in the walls of platform or base and each has one integral pinion and, behind it, one rotatably adjustable pinion. Each adjustable pinion is aligned with, and engages an integral one on the adjacent shaft, then turned on its shaft to take up the backlash and fixed to it. The platform therefore remains parallel to the base during vertical movement. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used on hand-operated, precision-instrument elevating tables. Is of low cost and retains its accuracy.
