PURPOSE: To conduct automatic cooking accurately while enhancing reliability by shortening the period for detecting inflow air temperature and lengthening the period for comparing the detected temperature thereby setting a temperature increment quickly. CONSTITUTION: Temperature Ui of air flowing into a heating chamber 4 in the initial state is detected at a constant period and when a current temperature Ui is equal to a temperature stored in a memory, temperature fluctuationsΔU,ΔV are determined for inflow air and outflow air thus determining a temperature increment compensation valueδ. The valueδis subtracted from a preset temperature incrementΔT to set a compensated temperature incrementΔT' (initial operation process). Heating operation is then conducted until the temperature Vj of outflow air from the heating chamber 4 increases byΔT' (first stage heating process). Subsequently, heating operation is conducted for a time equal to the first stage heating time multiplied by a constantαdependent on the kind of food (second stage heating process).
