The invention relates to a CNC-machine for grinding workpieces with curved surfaces, in particular turbine blades, and also for grinding and polishing decorative grooves on hollow glassware or similar workpieces. Its starting point is the decorative-grinding machine known from DE 3403720 C2 which, although suitable for decorative grinding, is not however suitable for decorative polishing, as well, through lack of sufficient rigidity and is in general not suitable for precision-grinding of curved surfaces, as is required for example in the case of turbine blades. Accordingly, the machine according to the invention is distinguished by various constructional measures which improve the rigidity, specifically the displacement of all adjusting devices for the required feed movements of the workpiece, with the exception of the drive for the rotary movement about its longitudinal axis, into the region of the grinding or polishing units, the arrangement of the positioning couplings between the workpiece carrier and the slide carrying the latter, and the bilateral clamping of the workpiece in the workpiece carrier.
