Steerable self-driving unit for polygraphic production units

The steerable self-driving unit (1) for polygraphic production units is used for transporting and aligning polygraphic processing units of relatively large mass, in particular folding units, deliverers and the like. The self-driving unit (1) is designed as a disc-shaped, compact casting and is provided with a running gear and means for receiving modules which have been fitted on. The self-driving unit (1) is driven by an electric motor (8) which is preferably connected by a toothed belt (9) to one of two wheels (4, 5) rotating on the axle (3). A further wheel (2), connected via an axle (6) to the hand wheel (7), can be used for steering. The alignment is brought about by threaded spindles (23) and is displayed by means of bubble levels (10) positioned expediently on the self-driving unit (1). A special, divided cable duct (11) is provided to receive feed lines of power and control current in the self-driving unit (1). <IMAGE>
