摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the title flocculant in high efficiency by exposing microorganisms capable of flocculating ability belonging to the Rhodococcus to neutral to alkaline circumstances for the initial pH followed by aeration in a culture medium incorporated with seedcake meal, etc. CONSTITUTION:A culture medium containing carbon, inorganic nitrogen, and organic nitrogen sources and so on is incorporated with at least one kind of substance selected from seedcake meal, oil cake and corn steep liquor. The resultant culture medium is then incorporated with microorganisms capable of flocculating ability belonging to the Rhodococcus which is exposed to neutral to alkaline circumstances for the initial pH, followed by aeration, thus producing the objective microorganism flocculant NOC-1. A typical strain belonging to the Rhodococcus is Rhodococcus erythropolis (FERM No.3530). For the culture conditions, the optimum pH is 7.0-9.5 and the optimum temperature is 30 deg.C.
