The invention relates to an actuating device for controlling mixer batteries for cold and hot water, having two valves 17, 18 inserted in parallel for dispensing hot and cold water. The valves 17, 18 are both provided directly with an external toothing 24, 25 or with externally toothed sleeves 26, 27 and are actuated with the aid of an operating handle 22. An inner ring 28 provided in the operating handle 22 is provided with two toothed arcs 29, 30 which are arranged at a circumferential spacing and interact alternately with the toothing 24, 25 of one of the valve spindles 17', 18' while an inward-pointing hub 23 provided with a toothed arc 31 likewise interacts alternately with the toothing 24, 25 of one or the other valve spindle 17', 18' in order, by means of different rotations of the operating handle 22, to bring about the dispensing of cold, hot or mixed water and the closure of the mixer battery. <IMAGE>
