<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a smart sensor in which diagnostic processing and distribution of analysis can be carried out while monitoring the elements by providing a control processor with an input multiplexer, a sampling control computer, etc. CONSTITUTION: A sensor preprocessing section 18 includes at least two sensor processing modules 40 and can condition or adjust the signal from an element sensor 12. The sensor 12 is connected with an input multiplexer 42 which delivers a selected sensor signal to a low-pass filter 44 through a switching unit 46. Gain and cut-off frequency of the filter 44 is regulated based on a digital control word from a data collecting section 20. A digital pulse sensor signal and a variable frequency digital sensor signal are passed through the section 18 and provided directly to a control processor where they are monitored directly. Furthermore, the section 20 samples and holds the sensor signal using sample and hold circuits 52, 54 under control of a sampling control computer 50.</p> |
