<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a catalytic combustion device without necessitating the preheat of mixture gas, by a method wherein a catalyst constituent is carried by a carrier having penetrating holes while the inflow port of a catalyst layer, formed by the carrier, is provided with a passing area smaller than the passing area of the penetrating holes. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst layer 2, incorporated into a furnace body 1, is constituted so that an inflow port 9, through which mixture gas 10 is supplied, is provided with an inflow area, smaller than the passing area of penetrating holes 12. A temperature regulation 8 is provided at the rear stream side of the catalyst layer 2 while a combustion temperature is controlled by regulating a fuel regulating valve 5 and an air regulating valve 7. The area of the catalyst layer 2 is increased suddenly at the vicinity of the inflow port 9 of the catalyst layer 2, therefore, separation is generated in the stream of the mixture gas 10 whereby a part, in which the flow speed of the gas is fast, and the other part, in which the flow speed of the same is slow, are formed. Stabilized combustion can be continued in the part, in which the flow speed of the gas is slow, without preheating the gas while the heat of combustion in this part is given to the mixture gas in the part, in which the flow speed of the gas is fast, whereby an effect the same as a case, in which the mixture gas is preheated, may be obtained.</p> |
