A hay-making machine has a machine frame which is supported on the ground with support wheels and in which two raking wheels, which are driven in opposite directions, are mounted rotatably about two approximately vertical, spaced, parallel axles. Radially on the raking wheels, arms are mounted rotatably about their longitudinal axes, which arms bear the raking tines at their outer ends and are provided with control levers at their inner ends. The vertical axle is surrounded by a control arrangement, from which the drive for the control levers is derived. In order that such a hay-making machine can be converted easily and rapidly from swathing to tedding and vice versa, ensures quiet low-wear running and makes possible, during tedding, a scattering effect adapted to the respective material, the arms (13) are mounted on radial pins (22) of the raking wheel (1) by bearing rings or bearing bushes or the like which are connected to control levers projecting approximately radially therefrom. The ends of the control levers are connected by coupling rods (16) in an articulated manner to a control ring (10) which is mounted rotatably on an adjusting ring (8) with an eccentric bore.
