Roadway-support apparatus

A roadway-support apparatus, in which prefabricated support segments which are adapted to the profile of the roadway to be supported are joined together in the roadhead to make complete support arches, consists of an independently movable carrier unit in the form of a crawler-mounted travel gear on which two extendable positioning units are arranged. The latter are provided with gripping devices which serve to accommodate the support segments. The positioning units, which are preferably designed as folding arms, are mounted on a base frame, one of the units being anchored in a fixed position, while the second can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the frame by means of a slide.
