A device is proposed which serves for feeding fuel from a tank to the internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle. The feed device comprises a feed unit, which has an outlet situated on its pressure side and provided with a non-return valve having a spring-loaded closing element, and the closing element, downstream of a closing element sealing area interacting with the valve seat in the direction of flow of the fuel, has a cylinder piston which is guided on a cylinder wall surrounding the outlet. So that a non-return valve of such construction can also be used in a unit outlet of tubular design with fuel flowing essentially in a straight line through it, the closing element is provided with a through passage arranged downstream of the closing element sealing area, one opening of which passage is located close to the closing element sealing area and the other opening of which is arranged on a face of the cylinder piston pointing in the direction of flow, which face is further removed from the closing element sealing area than the one opening of the through passage. <IMAGE>
