FIXING METHOD FOR OPTICAL SEMICONDUCTOR COLLIMATOR

PURPOSE:To mechanically fix and electrically connect a collimator easily in one process by press-fitting the terminal of the collimator to a substrate together with a solder by the pressing part of a positioning jig and heating them as one body to connect the terminal to a wiring pattern. CONSTITUTION:When an optical semiconductor collimator 3 where a lens 1 and an optical semiconductor element 2 are arranged will be fixed to a substrate 7, a terminal pressing part 8 is formed on a positioning jig 5. A terminal 9 projecting from the collimator 3 is bent by the pressing part 8 and a part in the vicinity of the front end of the terminal 9 is press-fitted to a wiring pattern 10 on the substrate together with a solder 11. The collimator 3 in this state is heated as one body and the solder 11 is fused and solidified to connect the terminal 9 to the pattern 10. Consequently, the collimator is mechanically fixed and electrically connected in one process easily and surely.
