Method and apparatus for trimming the edges of a textile shaped part

A method for trimming the edges of a textile shaped part, which is clamped in a holding apparatus, consists, instead of using a stamping knife acting against a base, in using a beating knife which is moved, at high speed, onto the dividing line to be produced and guided past the latter. By this means, the associated apparatus can be constructed in a substantially simpler and more cost-effective manner.
