The invention relates to a roller mill and a method for applying a coating of hard material to the cylindrical surface of the roller of such a roller mill. According to the invention, the coating is formed by a winding of hardened steel profile belt applied under stress. Such a solution is distinguished by cost-effective manufacture and repair and the possibility of achieving extremely high hardnesses.
