PURPOSE:To support a plurality of catalyst metals in a highly dispersed condition on a carrier, by adding an organic acid amine salt to a second metal for reduction and thereafter heating the same, upon alloying two kinds of metal on the inorganic carrier. CONSTITUTION:In the manufacturing of a plurality of metal catalysts supported on a carrier in an alloyed condition,a second metal is deposited on an inorganic carrier on which a first metal has been previously supported. During this time, the second metal is heated to a relatively low temperature, after reduction thereof by the addition of an organic acid amine salt. As the aforesaid metals, precious metals such as platinum and gold and nickel and cobalt are used, with, for example, the platinum/nickel or platinum/cobalt combination, whereby the first and second metals are alloyed on the carrier with little aggregation. |
