For securely attaching a housing (21) of a ball joint (20) having an outwardly extended flange (21a) to a plate-like supporting means (11) which is formed with a hollow cylindrical portion (12) and a flat surface portion (13) the housing (21) is press fitted into the cylindrical portion (12) until the outwardly extended flange (21a) abuts against the flat surface portion preferably with a sealing material having elastic and adhesive properties sealed therebetween the cylindrical portion (12) and the flat surface portion (13) being interconnected through a curved portion (14), and the length (t1) of the curved portion (14) in the axial direction of the cylindrical portion being smaller than the thickness (t0) of the supporting means (11) at the flat surface portion (13).
