PURPOSE:To enable enhancement of light resistance of an optical recording medium, e.g., an optical disk or optical card which comprises a coloring matter or prevention of deterioration upon optical reading, by supporting a coloring matter and a specified quencher on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A coloring matter and at least one compound of formula I or II are supported on a substrate. By this, an optical recording medium can be obtained which is durable to repeated irradiation with recording light and has excellent preservation stability. In formula I, Cat is a cation necessary for rendering a complex neutral, n is 1 or 2, M is Cu, Co, Ni, Pd or Pt, and R is a substd. or unsubstd. alkyl, aryl or polycyclic ring, with the proviso that two R's in the same ligand may be linked to each other to form a ring. The divalent inorganic cation Cat in formula I may be an alkaline earth metal, e.g., Mg<++>, Ca<++>, Sr<++> or Ba<++>. |
