<p>Device includes an inflatable membrane connected to a pressure source. It is arranged so that, on inflation, it drives the stoppers simultaneously into a series of bottles contg. a product which has previously been freeze-dried. The membrane of the first, and the space between the two is maintained under a vacuum by a pumping system. If the internal membrane becomes ruptured, the fluid under pressure which, in the case of a vacuum enclosure, is pref. at atmospheric pressure, is retained by the second membrane so that it cannot pollute the enclosure and the product in the bottles. A pressure-sensitive debice indicates any rise in pressure in the space between the membranes and this is corrected by the automatic operation of suitable electric valves. Applies to stoppering of bottles to be used for lyophilisation processes, also for storage of antibiotics, plasma, vaccines, sera etc.</p> |
