PURPOSE: To provide a simplified and compact structure and raise functional efficiency by coupling a synchronous rotary output member and rotary input members to a unitary drive means to drive a plurality of compressors. CONSTITUTION: An electrical motor 22 having a stator 24 and a rotatable rotor 26 is arranged, as a drive means, in a housing 12 of a twin rotary compressor 10. A quill 32 used as a synchronous rotary output member is fixed in a central cylindrical hole 30 of the rotor 26. A pair of rotary vane compressors 44, 46 driven by the quill are coupled to the rotor 26. Crankshafts 48, 50 used as rotary input members are attached to compressors 44, 46 respectively. The crankshafts 48, 50 are retained in ends of the quill 32 in opposite relationship respectively. A plurality of compressors 44, 46 is driven synchronously by a unitary electrical motor 22. Thus, it is possible to simplify the structure and raise the functional efficiency.
