<p>COMPOSITIONS (COATINGS) CONTAINING HYDROXYALKYL CARBAMATE AND RELATED DERIVATIVES AS CROSS-LINKING AGENTS A thermosettable composition is stable at ambient temperatures and cross-links upon heating to an elevated temperature. The composition comprises a cross-linking agent containing at least two hydroxyalkyl carbamate groups, a polymer containing two or more functional groups and, optionally, a cross-linking catalyst. The crosslinking agent is obtained by the reaction of an amine and a cyclic carbonate. A method of preparing a thermoset composition includes depositing a coating of the composition and heating it to cure.</p> |
