PURPOSE: To reduce CO emissions by locally burning a portion of gas flow in an emissions burner to make a locally heated portion of very high temperature of the gas flow and mixing that portion with a locally unburned portion of low temperature. CONSTITUTION: Gas from a main gas generator of a gas turbine engine flows through a flow path 1 to a power turbine with blades 2. A supplementary burner 4 is arranged downstream of the power turbine. An emissions burner 5 is arranged in the supplementary burner 4. The emissions burner 5 has a mixture chute 6 and injects fuel and steam 7 from an outlet nozzle 8 to burn the gas flow locally. The emissions burner 5 comprises mixing chutes 22, 24 formed respectively in a sine-shaped twisted ribbon shape in outer and inner annular portions 12, 14. Fuel is injected from a tube 34 arranged in the center of taper portions 28, 30 of the mixing chutes 22, 24 to burn the gas flow locally.
