Permanently creaseproof textiles are produced by (a) impregnating the textile with a soln. or dispersion of a thermosetting synthetic resin and a catalyst, (b) drying at a temp. below the m.p.t. of the resin, and (c) treating on a jacketed calender at an elevated temp. Process is used for creaseproofing textiles with large dimensions, such as curtains or covers, with a size of >2m2. High quality creaseproof finishes are obtained. Any creasproofing resin can be used.
|
