PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition curable in an approximately neutral condition, outstanding in affinity for the teeth, bone etc., thus applicable to the dentistry, orthopedics or the like, by incorporating an acidic aqueous solution of chitosan with hydroxyapatite, zinc oxide etc. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, 2-40 (pref. 3-30)wt.% of chitosan is dissolved in an aqueous acid (e.g., malic acid) solution (the amount of said acid is pref. 50-100 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of chitosan). For said acidic aqueous solution, a physiological salt solution or Ringer solution may also be used. Thence, this solution is incorporated with hydroxyapatite and zinc oxide and/or magnesium oxide into the objective curable composition. The weight ratio of the hydroxyapatite to the metallic oxide(s) is 60-99/1-40 (pref. 80-99/1-20). The weight ratio of the acidic aqueous solution of chitosan to the above-mentioned powder is normally 100/30-250. |
