PURPOSE:To easily and directly prepare a printing plate, by superposing a transfer material, wherein an oleophylic heat-softenable substance layer is formed on a support, on the hydrophylic surface of a lithographic material and sending out a heat signal to the transfer material from a thermal recording head to transfer the part of the heat-softenable substance to the surface of the lithographic material to form an oleophylic part. CONSTITUTION:A transfer material 3 wherein an oleophylic heat-softenable layer 2 is formed on a support 1 and a lithographic material 5 having a hydrophylic surface 4 are prepared and the surface of the heat-softenable layer 2 is superposed on the hydrophylic surface 4 and a thermal head 6 is brought into contact with the support 1 or allowed to approach said support to send out the signal corresponding to image signal data from the head 6 and the heat-softenable layer 2 is melted (softened) under heating through the support 1 to transfer the molten part of the heat-softenable layer to the lithographic material. The transfer material 3 is separated from the lithographic material to form the oleophylic part 7 corresponding to the image signal data to the surface of the lithographic material. The obtained lithographic plate can be used as a printing plate in usual lithography. |
