<p>The printing apparatus for application in electrically-operated office machines has a paper roll with pressure roller (11) to press the paper against a platen (10), against which a disk-shaped type element under hammer (15) pressure. The type element, when in the print position, is attached to the drive shaft (16) of an electric motor (14), but can be moved to an upward-tilted position where it is released from the shaft to enable it to be exchanged. Locking elements ensure that the print unit can be tilted upwards only when the type element is in a predetermined angular position. The locking elements comprise at least two axial apertures in the end face of a locking collar (23) attached rigidly to the motor shaft, in which complementary projecting pins engage. These projecting pins form part of a release mechanism (33,34,36) which can be moved axially during the tilting movement.</p> |
