PURPOSE:To prevent the core materials from melting, suppress deterioration in strength and obtain the title coated yarn, excellent in flexibility and adhesive property between core materials and a coating resin at a low cost, lay carrying out extrusion-coating molding while using one or more synthetic resin fibers as core materials and a synthetic resin as a coating material at a specified molding speed and temperature and subsequently cooling the obtained yarn. CONSTITUTION:One or two or more synthetic resin fibers are used as a core material 1, cooled to <=10 deg.C by using a cooling cylinder 2 and then subjected to extrusion-coating molding while using a synthetic resin 8 as a coating material in a coating dice 4 of an extruder 3 at a temperature of >=20 deg.C higher than the melting points of the core materials and at a molding speed (m/min) represented by the formula [LAMBDA is 1.6 (constant); T is temperature ( deg.C) of melted resin in extrusion-coating molding; t is melting point ( deg.C) of core materials; R is diameter (cm) of core material]. The extruded yarn is cooled to <=10 deg.C by using a cooling medium 6 arranged at a distance 5 of <=50mm from the coating dice 4 and wound to provide the aimed coated yarn while preventing the core materials from melting for suppressing deterioration of strength to <=40%. |
