PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity and to prevent image fog by incorporating in a photosensitive layer, titanyl phthalocyanine having a crystal structure exhibiting X-ray diffraction peaks at the positions of specified Bragg angles. CONSTITUTION:The titanyl phthalocyanine to be incorporated in the photosensitive layer has the crystal structure exhibiting X-ray diffraction peaks at the positions of the following Bragg angles (2theta+ or -0.2 deg.); 6.7 deg., 7.4 deg., 10.2 deg., 12.6 deg., 15.2 deg., 16.0 deg., 17.1 deg., 18.2 deg., 22.4 deg., 23.2 deg., 24.2 deg., 25.2 deg., and 28.5 deg., thus permitting the obtained photosensitive body, irrespective of monolayer type or laminated type, to have all of the necessary fundamental electrophotographic characteristics, such as charge retaintivity high sensitivity, repetition, stability, resistance to dielectric breakdown, abrasion resistance, durability humidity resistance, transferability, cleaning performance, and storage stability, and further, good sensitivity even when it is used for the photosensitive bodies of a laser printer, etc., using laser beams of 780nm long wavelength, and not to cause image fog and the like. |
