PURPOSE:To obtain a bone forming material having high purity and capable of saving the number of stages to minimum in a manufacturing process, by containing collagen and sodium alginate as essential components, and further containing calcium phosphate to hold a tablet shape by the sticking property of said material itself. CONSTITUTION:A bone forming material contains collagen and sodium alginate as essential components, and further contains calcium phosphate to hold a tablet shape by the sticking property of said material itself. This bone forming material is prepared by mixing an aqueous solution containing collagen and sodium alginate as essential components under stirring and adding calcium phosphate thereto while drying the resulting mixture to mold the same into a predetermined shape. Since the bone forming material is prepared by adding sodium alginate to the same material as the bone tissue of a living body, a stage for molding the bone forming material into a tablet shape can be omitted and the obtained bone forming material has high purity and excellent calcium precipitation properties. For example, a trouble such that the bone forming material is detached at an early stage after being inserted in a tooth and the gum is not brought about and said material is fused with a natural bone to rapidly form a tooth bone. |
